This event is celebrated annually on the 4th Saturday in July. The idea is to bring the community together and provide youth and educators a moment of silence to remember the lives that have been lost due to school violence, as well as to remember those who have passed on, learn about resources that decrease crime and have a positive interactive experience with law enfircement and families. We are having a community kickball tournament and would like LEA's to come out and play with the youth & educators as well as provide opportunities for scholarships and help with basic needs for a safe kickoff for back to school needs. Please contact me to discuss 2018 possibilities of involvement. My name is Leah Banks and I am the founder of the event. I can be reached at 816.935.7687 or pardonscholars@yahoo.com. Mayor James gave this event a proclamation at the inauguration on July 29, 2017.
Thank you for considering this much needed community event.
