In accordance with efforts to combat the COVID-19 virus, the following changes are being made at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office:
Courthouse Security Division
Effective immediately, Jackson County offices in the building at 415 E. 12th Street in Kansas City will be reopened and conducting normal business. Please use the west doors if you need to do business with the Circuit Court.
The Historic Truman Courthouse is also closed to the public for at least 30 days.
Sex Offender Unit
Sex offenders are still required to register by law. Effective immediately, the Sex Offender Unit will resume conducting registrations as normal, per Jackson County guidelines.
Conceal Carry Permits
Effective immediately, CCP has resumed conducting normal in-person business. For additional information please contact the office by phone at 816-541-8017.
Lobby Access
Effective immediately, the physical lobby of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office will be reopened for business. The front desk area, just outside the lobby, will have a Sheriff’s Office employee present during regular business hours to answer questions.
Dispatch
Non-emergency calls may be alternatively handled by phone or, if in the event a Deputy is required, the dispatcher will obtain additional information and make notifications to the Deputy for appropriate handling.
