Sheriff Darryl Forté

Sheriff Darryl Forté is the first African-American Sheriff of Jackson County, MO. Prior to becoming Sheriff, former Chief of the Kansas City, MO Police Department.

Media & Public Relations

The Public Information Officer (PIO) acts as the liaison with the media at crime scenes and other activities that generate media interest.

Reports

The Records Unit is responsible for maintaining the reports issued by the Sheriff’s Office deputies and employees. These reports are an account of criminal incidents and/or activities relevant to our law enforcement function. The report may become part of an official record which is used as a basis for evaluation of what has been done or what needs to be done.
