Updated CCP/COVID-19 Processing Guidelines

ATTENTION ALL CONCEALED CARRY APPLICANTS: 

Effective January 1, 2017 unless you are traveling to a state that requires a Missouri Concealed Carry Permit, you DO NOT need to purchase a Concealed Carry Permit.

House Bill 656 Allows Concealed Carry in Missouri without a permit requirement.

Appointments

In an effort to alleviate long lines and handle each applicant in a fair manner, all new concealed carry processing is handled by appointment only. 

No children are permitted in the processing area, and children may not be left unattended.

To Make an Appointment

All calls are taken Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays). Please call 816-541-8017 and then dial Ext. 72223. We are not open on weekends or evenings.

CCP Instructors

Any qualified firearms safety instructor may choose to submit his/her information to be added to the MOSMART Data Base of qualified instructors. To do so, they must be approved by the Sheriff's Office of the county in which they reside and pay an annual registration fee of $10 (payable by check, money order, or cashier’s check). Your annual instruction paperwork is due January 2nd of each year. For a list of the requirements, you can request them from our office.

Forms & Documents

BEGINNING OCTOBER 1st, THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE WILL TRANSITION TO A ONE-CHECK PAYMENT SYSTEM. THE $100 FEE MUST BE SUBMITTED ON ONE CASHIERS CHECK, PERSONAL CHECK OR MONEY ORDER, INSTEAD OF TWO.
