The state-of-the-art, 470,000-square-foot campus is located at 7000 E. U.S. 40 Highway in Kansas City, Missouri.

Facility Highlights & Operations
  • Capacity: Built with 1,000 beds (roughly 200 more than the previous jail), with layouts designed to accommodate future expansions.
  • Design Concept: Built under the philosophy of "justice with dignity," the center features abundant natural light, murals, open-air gyms, and outdoor courtyards.
  • Services: The facility prioritizes rehabilitation through dedicated job training, education, and social services programs.
  • Funding: The project was financed through a combination of county reserves, bonds, and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, avoiding an increase in taxes.
